June is all about leaning into the season across Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, and Mount Maunganui, and we've got plenty of reasons to get out of the house. From Roast Club landing at 13 Star Group venues to line dancing at Goldie's, and permanent pizza classes at Goode Brothers, there's something happening every week across Star Group's 50+ bars, pubs and restaurants.
This is your new winter ritual, and the best part is that someone else is doing the cooking and cleaning. Roast Club is back at participating Star Group venues from 7 June, serving up generous plates piled high with slow-roasted meats, roasted veggies, silky gravy, Yorky puds, and dessert if you fancy. Roasts are $35, or $30 for Star Social members. Not a member yet? Sign up for free and unlock the deal, plus plenty more perks while you're at it.
Pull your boots on and get yourself to the saloon floor! Goldie's Line Dance Social Club is on every Wednesday from 6pm and it's completely free. Pick up a few new moves before the live country duo kicks off from 8pm. No experience needed, just good energy and maybe a decent pair of cowboy boots.
So popular we made it permanent! Kids pizza classes at Goode Brothers are now running every second Saturday, all year round. The bambinos get their own pizza-making station, where they choose their toppings and build their dream pizza, plus enjoy a soft drink while it bakes. Add a dessert for just $5 to make it a proper little occasion. A great excuse to make a Saturday of it.
Every Sunday from 3pm, DJ Vincent Hanna takes over The Yard with soft rock classics, making for the kind of long afternoon that stretches all the way to sunset. Pull up a pew, order something cold, and let the smooth sounds do the rest. Free to attend, just show up!
Sundays at Latitude are very much worth leaving the house for. Every week, settle in for a roast paired with Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir for $50. Crispy roasties, giant Yorky puds, loaded seasonal veg, rich gravy, and tender meats that change weekly. Not drinking? The roast is yours for $35. Stick around for live music from 4–7pm and let Sunday stretch out a little longer.
Our weekly quiz nights are hosted by Believe It or Not, NZ's quiz specialists, so expect tight rounds, tricky questions, and the kind of useless knowledge that finally pays off. First place walks away with $100 Star Points, second takes $75, and third gets $25. Bookings are highly recommended.
A full wheel of aged cheese, hot spaghetti, and a chef who makes it all happen table-side. No cream, no shortcuts - just pasta, pepper, and proper technique. Cacio e Pepe as it should be, for just $20. Walk in on a Saturday and watch it happen.
