Building on our winning debut in Auckland’s Sylvia Park, Sports & Rec has arrived on Wellington’s waterfront, bringing family-friendly fun to the iconic Shed 22.

You could watch at home. But where’s the fun in arguing bad calls with your TV? Sports & Rec has arrived in Wellington with big screens, cold drinks and food worth staying for. Step off the waterfront, out of the wind and into a seat.
Set in the landmark Shed 22 building, our 450-person venue has plenty to keep everyone entertained before kick-off and beyond the final whistle - whether you’re watching the All Blacks dominate the Wallabies or backing the Phoenix to send Melbourne Victory packing.
Eight supersized screens keep you across the action, with arcade games like an F1 simulator, darts and a claw machine too. And a dedicated kids’ play area, tasty food for little ones and a refillable drinks station make family outings easy.
Families in early, mates in late. Come for the game, stay for everything around it.
Our menu is made for sharing, snacking and settling in - even if your team isn’t giving you much to celebrate. Gather the crew around a half or whole rotisserie chicken, served with house gravy, and add a few sides; think ranch fries, herb slaw and garlic butter mash.
For something to snack on while you watch, there are garlic pretzel baguettes, avocado ranch dip, charred corn ribs and prawn cocktail pots. Or tuck into burgers and sandos like the BBQ bacon smash with cheddar, streaky bacon, fried egg and green tomato chutney.
Finish sweet with deep-fried Mars Bar pops, peanut butter & Oreo cheesecake, or a waffle cone sundae piled with strawberries and cream, strawberry jelly and chocolate crackle.
The Sports & Rec line-up includes a built-out beer list offering Export, Tuatara, Heineken, Monteith’s and Tiger, available by the half, full or imperial pint, jug and tower (because sometimes one glass just won’t cut it).
Cocktail lovers can get stuck into a Grapefruit Cosmo, a Pimm’s Punch, a peach and prosecco Bellini and more. Cocktails can also be made 0% using Barnes & Brown 0% spirits.
A major international fixture, a local clash or an afternoon with no sporting agenda - there’s always a reason to round up the crew. The game might be the excuse, but catching up is what it’s all about.
Sports & Rec is open now at Shed 22, 4 Taranaki Street, Wellington. We can’t wait to see you!
