Mount Maunganui, meet the new Master Kong — Asian twisted, turned all the way up.
Wednesday 17th June, 2026
We're not Asian fusion. We're Asian twisted, and New Zealand is about to find out exactly what that means.
From today, Master Kong Mount is running on a different menu, a different drinks list, and a different kind of night. Bold flavour, music up, lighting down — the kind of place where a quick feed turns into hours without anyone deciding to stay.
Fast, flavour-packed, built on a familiar format with a twist. Korean prawn toasties. Cheeseburger wontons. Black garlic and mushroom fried rice. Chocolate molten lava buns for the ones who never skip dessert. The new menu is fun, it's fresh, and it's exactly the twist a meal out was missing.
Oh, and the drinks? All new cocktails. 0% options for the ones taking it easy. Natural wines for the ones who care. The usual beers on tap, plus big format Tsingtao's for the table. Teapots and soju bombs to get the night started properly.
The music's up, the lighting's down, and the new letter mark, three orange claw strokes, is everywhere: the menus, the merch, the takeaway bags. This is Master Kong at full volume.
Come find out what the fuss is about.
Master Kong is open now at 217 Maunganui Road, Mount Maunganui.
Coming soon to Master Kong Wellington and Sylvia Park.
